Brenda turns thirty-*&$#@
May 16th has come and gone. With Mother's Day so close to my birthday I really get spoiled. The kids all came through for me on both days. My birthday was on a Saturday so I had the kids around all day-we mostly just relaxed. The kids had to finish their chores before Mike would take them to the store to buy me birthday presents. So in the mean time, they wrapped up what they found around the house. Michael gave me one of his Star Wars figures, Sarah gave me a piece of pvc pipe, and Bekah gave me a giant plastic penny. It was very sweet. They were very excited to give me their gifts. Mike arranged for a babysitter and took me to dinner and a movie. Then we got an ice cream cake and the kids sang to me.
Bekah riding a 2 wheeler
A couple of weeks ago Bekah wanted to try to ride her bike without training wheels. We took them off and the next day she had it down. She figured out how to stop and start and is riding like a pro.
Rebekah at school
Here are some pictures of Rebekah and some fun days at school. First they went to the zoo and her favorite part was getting to ride on the bus. Then they had a field day and she went around with her friend Alicia. They were literally running from one center to the next. She is a very fast little runner and did well on all the physical activities.

sprinkler mayhem
Last week was pretty hot. Thursday after school the kids asked if they could run through the sprinkler(always more trouble than it's worth). Mike had school right after work and I didn't have to make dinner, so I caved in. They had a lot of fun-Hannah monopolizing the sprinkler, Michael terrorizing the younger girls, Bekah barely getting wet and Sarah getting bored after a few minutes and riding her bike instead. Rachel loves water, but not when it's sporatically spraying her in the face.
Easter 2009
This year we colored eggs OUTSIDE (I've finally wised up) Then we hit the road down to Oklahoma City for an overnight temple trip. (We usually just go down on a Saturday, Mike and I take turns attending the temple and watching the kids, but every once in a while we split it up by staying in a hotel. The kids like both ways, but especially on these special occasions) We went to a park that morning and had an Easter egg hunt (Rachel's first) and let them play around on the playground before heading back up with a carload of kids hyped up on sugar!
Michael's 7th Birthday
Michael wanted an Easter Egg birthday cake. Again, Brenda made the cake and Mike decorated it. Michael had to sit in the big black birthday chair and the other kids were made to stay put on the couch-then Michael got to open his presents. He got a few little gifts and then the big surprise: A new bike! He was soooo excited. It's definately a bike he can grow into. We brought cupcakes for his class and he got to take the first bite. Sarah couldn't resist giving him a big hug when we got there. Thanks to everyone for helping him celebrate - your phone calls and cards are greatly appreciated.
