Sarah's 4th birthday

Ever since school started this year Sarah's been asking us when she gets to go to school and we always tell her "You have to be four." Well needless to say she was very excited to for this birthday and now we have to come up with a new way to explain the time before she can start school. She wanted a horsie cake, so we let her pick the mix and the frosting and then put a horse on top (she's licking the frosting off so she can play with it). She got this new bike basket and bell so we let her bring her bike in. The kids followed her around and everytime she would enter the room we would all clap and cheer. She had so much fun.

Family Christmas photo

Turkey Trot

All three kids wanted to run for Benton Elementary this year at the Turkey Trot. It's a two mile course and they went to practices on Saturday mornings to prepare. Here's a before picture; then Michael, Hannah, and Bekah was a trooper jogging with Daddy and never stopped to rest-but the after picture says it all! They were all thrilled at their accomplishments. And Benton won the trophy for most students participating.

Trunk AND Trick or Treat

Friday before Halloween was the parade and parties down at the school. I only saw Michael at the parade (the mummy) and I only got to attend Hannah's party (the table with the "brain"). That night was also the Trunk or Treat at church. All the candy (except their five favorites) got handed out the next day at home. Mike passed out candy and I took the kids-Rachel went with us to the neighbors in the cul-de-sac (she only fell once)and then stayed home with Mike. The other kids got tuckered out pretty soon after but they got a lot of candy none the less. I think Hannah could have gone on if she had someone to go with-maybe next year we'll find her a group of older kids to go with.

Cessna's Halloween Carnival

We had never been to the Cessna Employee's Club Halloween Carnival before, so we thought we'd give it a try this year. We couldn't seem to get our chores done in a timely manner that day, so we ended up only being able to go to the last hour. It was a lot of fun for the kids. Plenty to do: there was a gymnasium with all the usual games lining the walls-bean bag toss, fishing pond, pop the balloon with a dart, ring toss. They all enjoyed those; the older kids because of the challenge, the younger kids because you won a prize no matter what. (we've finally been able to get rid of all of those dumb little prizes like chinese yo-yo's, spider rings, and those mazes where you try to get the little beebee to roll into the hole. There were inflatables in the middle-their favorite was this one with the balloons flying all around inside. Rachel was too little, so she contented herself with peering in the window. As the carnival ended our fun was just beginning...They begged us to play on the playground outside and they had just as much fun and played just as long out there as they had inside. Go figure.
